Egypt is a paradise for lovers of blissful rest in the shade of palm trees, as well as the real adventurers and ancient secrets. This former land of the pharaons for centuries attracted fascinating stories about the ancient civilization that left a breathtaking pyramids and tombs, mummies intriguing, mysterious hieroglyphics and unusual mythology. Although the majority (about 90%) of the surface of the country is desert, it is the longest river in Egypt flows in the world, with one of the largest deltas, and is one of the largest man-made water reservoirs - Lake Nasser. Life-giving Nile has enabled the development of the state and its delta, thanks to a very favorable climate, focused on the economy and the majority of the population. The country boasts access to two seas - the Mediterranean in the north and the Red in the east, which is also due to the dynamic development of leisure tourism, as well as a wealth of fish and seafood, which are a tasty alternative to meat dishes (beef or lamb). Among other local specialties are dishes based on legumes, zucchini or eggplant and rice or bread traditional Arabic.

 

Cairo, situated in the delta of the Nile capital of the country, formed with about 15 million inhabitants, the largest metropolis in Africa. This vibrant city is full of monuments, mosques and museums - including the famous Egyptian Museum and the tempting aroma permeated the streets of spices, water pipes, strong coffee and sweet mint tea pull into shimmering with all the colors of the bazaars to eventually accommodate weary wanderer in one of the many cafes where the locals like to spend their time. Adjacent to Cairo, Giza is the goal of trips for those who want to see with their own eyes the only preserved to this day seven wonders of the world - guarded by the mysterious Sphinx impressive pyramid of Cheops, Khafre and Menkaure, counting myself almost 3000 years. Heading south trail of ancient buildings, a huge impression certainly will at every pearl of Upper Egypt - a unique complex of temples of Luxor and Karnak and rock tombs in the Valleys of the Kings and Queens, where in 1922 discovered Tutankhamun's tomb filled with treasures. Moments of relaxation can certainly be enjoyed on the sandy beaches of the warm and quite salty Red Sea. Lying on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula town of Sharm El Sheikh with accommodating a bit further north of Dahab attract diving and water sports thanks to the magnificent coral reef, inhabited by a very large number of diverse creatures. Nearby Mount St. Catherine is the highest peak of Egypt, and squatting at her feet Christian monastery was, like many other monuments of Egypt, UNESCO World Heritage Site.
