Our favourite London hotels!

There is always something new in London! A restaurant, hip boutique, great brunch place or of course a hotel. I took time and visited some of the properties. Some new, some of them with a long history, some under refurb ( e.g. Mandarin Oriental) and some fairly new, but new for me. Here is the selection, where you will not be dissapointed. Brown´s Fantastic service, fascinationg history, great comfy beds and location!!! In the heart of Mayfair, one of London's most desired locations, Rocco Forte’s Brown's Hotel has a fascinating history and has hosted many distinguished guests since it opened as London’s first hotel in 1837. To this day, this glamorous hotel welcomes guests “in-the-know”, and after an extensive refurbishment, it personifies the refined sophistication of modern British luxury. Guest rooms and suites are decorated in a contemporary style while maintaining original features and details. Everyone flocks to HIX at The Albemarle, to sample famed chef Mark Hix’s seasonal menu of classic British dishes and admire original British artworks by Tracey Emin and Bridget Riley. The Donovan Bar displays fifty of Terence Donovan's photographs, and award-winning afternoon tea at Brown’s is a must. The Welleseley The Great Gatsby!!! London's finest boutique-grand hotel, overlooking Hyde Park in Knightsbridge, with extensive cigar lounge, fabulous suites and free Rolls Royce transfers. My new favourite! With original Art Deco features, this luxury boutique hotel is a 2-minute walk from Hyde Park Corner tube station with direct trains to Heathrow airport. All rooms and suites are individually decorated with artwork and period furnishings, and feature flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi access, minibars and personalised tablet PCs. Some rooms overlook Hyde Park. Suites add in-wall bathroom TVs. Butler service is available 24/7. There's a glamorous Italian restaurant, a 1920s-style bar, a jazz lounge with live performances, and a humidor and cigar terrace. Afternoon tea is served in the lounge. Rosewood London It feels like a private luxury residence! An iconic hotel near Covent Garden, stands out among London luxury hotels, combining English heritage with contemporary sophistication.Timeless elegance, welcoming and relaxing environment, great buzzing bar and restaurant adds the cherry on the cake. Occupying a restored Edwardian mansion and entered via a carriageway and courtyard, this plush hotel is 2 minutes' walk from Holborn tube station and 11 minutes' walk from the Royal Opera House. Rooms and suites combine original belle epoque elements with contemporary designs. All have flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, Nespresso coffee machines, sound systems and iPod docks. Suites add personal bars and butler service. There's an elegant dining room with red leather banquettes, a deli, an outdoor terrace area and a bar offering more than 200 single malt whiskeys. The luxury spa offers treatments, with saunas, steam rooms and a fitness suite. I have also check the other hotels e.g. always great Bulgari, Four Seasons, The Dorchester, well priced The Kensington, Connaught, Cafe Royal and Mandarin Oriental, and there is more to come. Safe travels! Eva
