October and November its a good and very popular time to visit UAE, but if you are in a search of shopping, nightlife, fantastic hotels but also beautiful pristine beaches you can easily combine Dubai or Abu Dhabi with Maldives. And you will be happy you did. There are plenty of flights from Dubai to Male and it takes only about 3h45min. I visited recently Jumeirah Vittaveli, only 20min by seedboat from Male Airport ( and nice comfy catamaran, not a shabby barge) and it was just perfect for few nights escape. I always thought I must go to Maldives for at least one week because its "faaaaar" but you really dont. If you choose resort with a speed boat distance like Jumeirah Vittaveli you are fine. Plus its has all you expect from a true Maldivian Resort, plus fabulous diving and snorkling onsite. Bolifushi Island was once a soaring mountaintop. The seas have risen, though, leaving only a tiny spec in the ocean - which is just enough for the lofty resort. The sand is white and fine, the villas have enought privacy to take moonlit dip in the pool ( and all villas have a good size pool) and the MU bar and grill serves some mean dishes. You can take bike which is parked outside your villa. We got excited, there were real " beach cruisers"! You go slow and maybe you stop for a drink on a way to fish feeding daily show. Happy hour starts at 5PM and the staff is so pleasant that you feel like you live there. I said hello on my 5-minute bike ride like 10x and I received wide happy grin back. You will be happy, barefoot and relaxed here and maybe you dont want to leave!
